MMK - Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works chooses ROLLMATE roll inspection systems

November 30, 2020

One of the largest integrated steel mills in Russia, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, has placed an order to retrofit their grinders with state-of-the-art ROLLMATE roll inspection systems. The systems will be installed in the cold-mill roll shop.

ROLLMATE was the only system in the market capable of meeting MMK’s inspection requirements in terms of detection capabilities and speed. The proprietary technique includes UT and EC transducers that detect surface and sub-surface defects in all orientations, and advanced software algorithms that permit inspections during the grinding process. UT inspection while grinding is a unique ROLLMATE capability that not only reduces inspection cycle time, but can significantly increase roll life.

This project is coordinated by our new colleagues at Innerspec-CIS which provide sales and support to all the countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States.
