The Comprehensive High-Output Robotic Universal-NDT System (CHORUS) is designed for inspecting large and small composite parts, forgings, and other metallic and non-metallic components. CHORUS is optimized for Ultrasonic Testing techniques (PE, TTU, PAUT, EMAT) and most other NDT techniques, including Eddy Current, Radiography, Thermography, and Shearography.

NDT-WEB ROUTINE

CHORUS robotic systems include Innerspec’s NDT-WEB ROUTINE (Robot UT Integration Environment), a suite of web-based and seamlessly integrated sub-programs covering all the Offline and Online processes required to manage the inspection.

  • No robot programming required.
  • Automated part teaching and adaptive robot path control based on inspection results.
  • Results provided in open data formats.

CHORUS – Large Component Cells

Designed for inspection of large, complex, high-value structures. The robotic cell designs are tailored to match the scale and complexity of the product inspected.

Key Characteristics:

  • Single or multi-robotic scanning of large or fixed components. Typical constructions include:
    • Single Robot (6-axis). Water-column UT/PAUT, Immersion Tank, and TTU with a yoke.
    • Dual or Triple Robot (6-axix * 2). Water-column UT/PAUT, Immersion Tank, dual robot TTU. Inspecting on shared or separate areas simultaneously.
  • Multi-axis motion for complex geometries and hard-to-reach areas.

CHORUS – Small Component Cells

These systems combine robotic inspection with automated part handling, creating a fully self-contained inspection solution for smaller components.

MRUT SIZING AXIAL: DEFECT DETECTION AND MEASUREMENT OF REMAINING WALL THICKNESS ON PIPES WITH GENERALIZED CORROSION
Arix Technologies sought to evaluate the MRUT SIZING application using VOLTA 2 for their inspection operations. To assess the application's performance, they provided a pipe sample containing conditions commonly encountered in the field, along with four artificial defects designed to challenge remaining wall thickness estimation.

BURIED GAS RISER PIPE INSPECTION USING MEDIUM AND LONG-RANGE GUIDED WAVES
An Australian LNG Company has many gas field riser pipes in remote locations. The risers are wrapped in various mediums depending on the chosen wrap technology at the time that they were constructed. Currently, the LNG Company policy is to excavate the risers and strip the wrap to visually inspect the pipes for external corrosion.
